Don't sweat the small stuff...

Yesterday I was at Kroger and the cashier asked me how far along I was. I told him 25 weeks. Well this blew his mind and he was like, "Whoa, Whoa!!" and making all this commotion. I thought it was going to start calling me over to look at me. He then continued to tell me how I was going to have a BIG baby (since he was such an expert) and kept staring at my belly. I said well I am having a boy and I do hope he's a healthy littly baby. I smiled and walked away, even though I wanted to do something else. So for the rest of the day I was pretty bummed because I'm really sick of people commenting on the size of my belly. I mean what do they expect? I'm over 6 months pregnant, I'm not going to have abs of steal right now.
Well that evening our small group served dinner at the Ronald McDonald house. (A place where families that have children in the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital can stay). There were a lot of families there that had premature babies that were in ICU. One couple I spoke with really touched my heart. They asked me how far along I was, I told them 25 weeks. She said she had her baby at 23 weeks, 2 weeks earlier then where I am. Their baby weighed less than our baby weighes right now. It was amazing to see these people's strength and faith in God remain strong. It really makes you put everything in your life in perspective and realize that you are very blessed. I made a comment without thinking that I'm going to have a "Big boy" and the woman told me, "That's not a bad thing". I've been so worried about how big I'm getting and if I'm too big for how far along I am when those woman would have loved to have been as big as I am. So my lesson learned last night: I'm going to enjoy my pregnancy because I have been VERY blessed so far and I'm not going to worry about how I look or how big I am getting (as long as the baby is healthy). Remember: DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!

Congrats Anne & Shawn

Congratulations Anne & Shawn!!!! This past weekend Anne Alison Scheller became Anne Scheller Frotten! I love her new last name. We all traveled down to Columbus, GA for the weekend. If you have never been to Columbus you're missing out on meeting some of the nicest people you'll ever met. We kept commenting all weekend how nice everyone in the town was. It was great to be there and see the Scheller family. Erin, Julie, Mika, Carson, Ms. Joy and I were the NLR crew that came. It was great to be with all them. We had a great time. Everything was so nice and the Scheller's did a great job hosting such a wonderful event. Anne looked beautiful and could definitely be a model bride. I can't wait to visit them in Chicago! We love you guys....

Weekend with Carter, Jill, and Yancey

I've been meaning to post these pictures all week. Last weekend Jill, Yancey and Carter came to visit. We had the BEST time. First we went shopping out at Opry Mills. The first picture is of Carter at the Disney store trying to decide if he was going to get Mickey or Donald. He got both because he was so good! Saturday we took him to the zoo. It was so fun to see how excited he would get about all the animals. The last picture is of him on the couch with all his stuff animals he ended up with over the weekend. He came with George the monkey and Brother the dog, but while he was here he got Mickey, Donald, and "Nash" the elephant from the Nashville zoo. Carter was so fun to have around and it just made me more excited about having a little boy! We loved our time with them all and can't wait until they come back and visit. The sweetest picture we did not get was one night Carter and I were both exhausted and when fell asleep on the couch he had his hand resting on my belly. It was the sweetest thing and I'm so upset we didn't get a picture of it. He's such a sweet little boy!

More pics of the little guy......

Still a boy!!! We went for another ultrasound today. He was moving so much. It was awesome. He's kicking his leg up in the first two pictures. It's so cool because I have really felt him moving more lately. He's going to be an active little boy! I guess I better get my sleep now while I can. I am still feeling great. I do feel like my belly has really popped out in the last week, though. (No David, I don't have an outie yet!!!) My sister Jill and her family were down last weekend and she brought me some fabric. We are going to have his bedding made. It's going to be so cute! You'll have to wait and see what it looks like after get it done. Now, about those names.........we're still not any closer to deciding on one. I know, I know, it'll just come to me (if I had a dollar for every time I hear that I'd be able to quit work)!
