4:00- Blow out!!!

When I pick up Aiden they always give me a piece of paper that tells me when he ate, how much, what he did for the day and when he had a wet and dirty diaper.
Well yesterday when I picked him up his sheet of paper said: "4:00-Blow out!!!" And was underlined! Apparently Aiden went all over the place because he was not in the same outfit I put him in that morning. I just thought it was hilarious that they would actually put "blow out" on his report for the day! I'm glad it happened to them this time and not me! He must have felt real good afterwards because when I picked him up he was all smiles!
This is him that morning ready for school.

He was wearing his Guatemala booties that day.

Aiden turned 5 months old on Monday. I know, I know, I can't believe it either. He has been so much fun lately because he is really starting to interact with things. He loves watching the ark roll by. It plays lovely music that will get stuck in your head all night......."Sailing, Sailing....."

He loves his little taggie elephant.....

And his drums......(don't cha just want to kiss those cheeks!)

"Who has big cheeks?"

Hercules is ALWAYS curious as to what Aiden is doing...

Aiden confused "tummy time" with "nap time"...

Wow, what a wonderful five months it has been. Aiden has finally gotten better (knock on wood....everytime I post about it I usually jinx myself). He is back to eating fruits and vegetables with rice cereal 3 times a day and taking bottles with those. I have actually tried the oatmeal when we're at home and he seems to like that better. He has started to recognize the dogs lately and they have been making him laugh, which is very cute. He started reaching for his feet, too, which keeps him entertained for a while......whatever works, right?
In the past 5 months I have been peed on, pooped on, thrown up on, spit up on, coughed on, slept on, and cried on. But I wouldn't change a day of it. No one can explain to you how much love you can have for someone until you have your own child. Lauren and Scarlett were right when they said, "Motherhood isn't for sissies!" There are days when you want to sit there and cry with them (and I do), but I am so glad that I'm Aiden's mom. He brings so much joy into our lives and we feel blessed every day!

P.S. This is random and nothing to do with Aiden, but has anyone tried those new skinny lattes at Starbucks....Y-U-M-M-Y! I highly recommend the skinny mocha....

Could you get mad at a face like this......

I don't think so! Aiden has been my little alarm clock lately. He has been wanting to get up earlier than I want to get him up. When I go in his room he is looking all around and when I walk up to his crib he just starts smiling. I just had to take a picture before I picked him up because he looked so cute.

Mom, seriously.....just pick me up!

Saying his prayers...

Aiden is still sleeping through the night once we put him down around 7:00-7:30. But for some reason he just can't make it to 6:00 anymore. He's usually just hungry. He hasn't been eating his rice cereal and baby food as well, so I guess he can't make it those 11 hours like he was doing. We're trying to get him back on track with that, but it just takes time. He was sick last weekend and didn't want anything to do with the baby food. Hopefully we can get him interested in it again soon.

New Year's with the Carothers...

So I know this is a little late, but better late than never! I wanted to post some pictures from when Jonathan's family was here. We didn't get too many though because that was the weekend Aiden got really sick.
We started off the weekend getting a family picture. We started this tradition last Christmas and for Christmas this year this was the only thing Margie asked for. I think we could handle that!

How sweet is this picture of Aiden and Isabella. She kept patting him on the head like he was a little dog.

Aiden got worn out hanging out in his bouncy swing. He loves this thing! (Thank you Wes and Wendy!)

This was the morning Aiden woke up really sick. It breaks my heart to look at this picture because I can just see it in his eyes that he's not feeling well. I'm so glad we got through this. Praise the Lord!

While he was sick he slept a lot while we were holding him. Here's Aiden sleeping on Granddaddy.

Sleeping on Grammy...

The gang on New Year's Eve playing games.

After New Year's day we took Aiden back to the doctor. On our way home he fell asleep and slept in his car seat for 4 hours! We were not about to wake him and move him to his bed.

After the trip to the doctor Aiden definitely started feeling better. They did a breathing treatment on him and I really think that helped. Plus the antibiotic they gave him was nice, too!

We even got to do some shopping on Grammy's last day here.

Last week Jonathan and I had to take turns taking off to be with Aiden. I'm so glad we were able to stay home with him because it gave him a chance to get better.

Aiden has been doing great eating his fruits and vegetables and rice cereal. He loves sweet potatoes and apples. He has started sleeping through the nights 10-11 hours, which is definitely a blessing. It's nice to finally feel like Jonathan and I have some time together in the evenings. I'll post some pictures soon of him eating his fruits and vegetables. It's so cute.

Catching up......

I've got lots of catching up to do since our last post. So much has been going on. I'm going to start with Aiden turning 4 months on the 28th! Here are some pictures from his visit.

He weighed 14 pounds 14 oz, so almost 15 pounds!

He looks familiar......

After getting four shots Aiden was such a trooper! He only cried for a second.

Aiden is doing so much at 4 months. He finally laughed out loud and it was priceless. He has had it rough these last few weeks, though. He was still dealing with the congestion, but the weekend before New Year's he woke up in the middle of the night with a temp of 103. I freaked out and called his doctor and she said to give him Tylenol every 4 hours. It helped his temp go down, but he was still not eating much and having a hard time sleeping. For about four days and nights he would not sleep in his own bed. Someone had to hold him upright so he would sleep. I guess the pressure of laying down hurt too bad. We finally got to go to the doctor Wednesday after New Years day and she said he had bronchilitis and an ear infection. There wasn't anything they could do for the bronchilitis, but she gave us some medicine for the ear infection. Things have gotten better, but his doctor said he couldn't go back to daycare for 2 weeks! Thankfully Jonathan's parents were still here last week so they were able to stay with him. But this week Jonathan and I are having to take turns staying home with him. During his sickness he got off his schedule and was not sleeping through the night. I felt like everything we had done up until now had just gone down the drain! But I am proud to report that last night he slept through the night for the first time in about two weeks! We put him down at 8:00 and he didn't get up till 6:00....Praise the Lord! I am trying to get him back on his schedule and also trying to introduce rice cereal and some fruits and vegetables to him. At his 4 month check up his doctor said we could start giving him fruits and vegetables, but he got sick right after that so I was just trying to give him anything he would take. We are starting back on trying the rice cereal. It's going okay, he's not loving it just yet.
I will post more pics of the Carothers visit. We had a wonderful time with Jonathan's family here. They were so much help with Aiden and I don't know how we would have done it without their help.
