Less than a week.....

And our little boy will be here! We went for my checkup today and the doctor went ahead and set the date for me to be induced! I am going in next Tuesday the 28th to be induced (that is if he doesn't come before then). I can't believe we have a date for Aiden to be here. I'm so excited! I have not progressed any more (still dilated at 1 cm and effaced 70%) but she said he is getting bigger and if we wait any longer he might be too big for me to have him naturally. So that is why she went ahead and scheduled the induction. It's only a week and a half before his due date, so it's not that early. I am just excited beyond words right now. I am really glad we have a date set to be induced because God knows I don't handle surprise very well. I just can't believe this time next week we'll be holding our little baby boy.

36 1/2 weeks

I went for another doctor's appointment today and I am now 70% effaced and 1 cm dilated. They did an ultrasound today to see how much he weighs and to check if he is head first. He is head first and he is weighing at about 6 pounds 11 ounces! He's in the 70% for weight, which the doctor said was good. She said, though, that we will talk about next week taking him early. Since he is so big they think he'll be ready to come early. She said that it's normal to go either 2 weeks before your due date or 2 weeks after. We'll definitely be in the category of the 2 weeks before our due date. It's so exciting to think that next week we might have a date for when Aiden will be here! That is if he doesn't decide to come before then. I have been feeling fine lately. The 100 degree weather isn't helping my cankles, though! Yes, my feet are swollen and look like the marshmellow man, but I'm just glad it hasn't happened until now. Keep us in your prayers!!!

Shower at work

This picture is for Amber......I look huge!!!)

Lana & Jonathan more interested in watching tv!

I had my shower at work last Friday and I have one word to say about it.....WOW! We got so much stuff!!! We were so overwhelmed by all the generosity. Jonathan even got to come for it and so did my sister Kristy. We are so blessed to have such great friends in Nashville and I'm so blessed to work for such a wonderful company. Thanks to my friends at work that put on an awesome shower. Little Aiden doesn't know how blessed he already is.......but we'll be sure to tell him.

Living the high life...

I thought this picture was too cute not to post. Look how happy Otis is! He's really living large now riding around in a convertible! Obviously we weren't as much fun as his new owner. Look how big he is smiling in this picture and then look at the picture below from when we had him. Big difference! We must have bored him!!!

Fifth & Final Home

We FINALLY found Otis a home last night. We actually thought we found him a home last week, but it didn't work out (long story). So two of my friends at work started emailing Otis' picture out to people they knew and people started calling like crazy. A lady who is not married and doesn't have kids but LOVES dogs (she already has 3 dogs) saw Otis' picture and fell in love with him. I am so happy for Otis that he has finally found a good home and someone that would love him and take great care of him. This is Otis' fifth home and I know it'll be his final home. No more moving around for Otis. I wish we could have kept him but three dogs and a baby just doesn't sound like fun to me. I just feel so relieved because I have been so worried about finding him a home before the baby gets here. It is really kind of cool how I got in touch with the lady that took him. She is a friend, of a friend, of a friend, of a friend (did you catch all that?). It was truly a blessing from God that our paths crossed. I know this was just meant to be for her to have him. One thing this has taught me is that God is always in control so I should just give it to Him from the beginning and not worry!

Aiden's Room

Dayle painted this!
The outfit he is coming home in.

Here are some pictures of Aiden's room so far. It is still a work in progress, but I know I have been promising to post these for a while. We are getting a chair to put in his room tomorrow, so we are making sure it fits before we hang up any pictures. We are going to put the painting Dayle did over his crib, but we want to make sure we're not going to have to move it once the chair gets in there. We still have a little bit more to do as far as decorating, but for the most part it is ready. Of course if he came tomorrow we would be fine. We have the crib, diapers and some clothes, that's all you need at first, right? The picture on the bottom is the outfit we are going to bring him home in. It's so adorable and I love the little shoes we got to go with it. I am getting so excited, but still a little anxious. It's hard to believe he will be here soon.

35 1/2 weeks

I'm starting to go to the doctor weekly now. Today she started checking me to see how far along I am. I am 50% effaced, but I am not dilated yet. She did say he was dropping, which she said was good. Next week they are doing an ultrasound to see how much he weighs. She said he is head first, so that's also good. I have been sleeping pretty good still (I'm not one to miss my sleep), but a little uncomfortable. But how can you not be uncomfortable with temperatures in the 100's!!! I didn't pick the best time to be pregnant! I am still working on the room and waiting until it's completely done to post pictures (so please be patient). Little by little it's getting done. I'm just so exhausted all the time.
